VEGETARIAN CAKES CLASS ON 22nd DECEMBER 2013

Who says vegans and vegetarians cannot enjoy a slice of cake? I'm all for no animal products in my food but can still enjoy a slice of yummy vegetarian cake with my tea. There is an increasing demand from my vegan customers/students for a variety of cakes, pastries and desserts. I have been experimenting with different ingredients in my bakes to replace animal derived products and will be introducing the recipes in my classes soon. 
We will be bringing more awareness to the food that we consume and try to make it healthier by incorporating olive oil, fruits, nuts and vegetables in our desserts. Did we hear a virtual 'yuck' coming from somewhere? The cakes below are testament that vegan cakes can taste as delicious as non-vegan cakes and the best part is, we won't even miss the eggs, white refined sugar, milk or butter - which happens to be the holy grail of any desserts!

We had about sixteen people who attended our Assorted Tarts class and we had to decline some last minute participants who wanted to join the class as it was already full. BAKE 3 DIFFERENT CAKES WITH ONE MASTER RECIPE CLASS IN DECEMBER (NEW CLASS)

There was a long hiatus in our blog updates due to some personal family crisis which took a heavy toll on us, both physically and mentally. We hope that our prayers and doa to Allah swt will be answered and our dear cousin will recover soon from the mishap.

On a lighter note, we are introducing a new cake baking class in December and it is quite an interesting class whereby we will use one master recipe to bake three types of cakes. Imagine you can bake three different cakes by just learning one recipe. This class is suitable for beginners with zero baking knowledge and also for experienced bakers. This  idea is quite new in the baking sphere and we are happy to conceptualize it in our class.

In this class, a revised Victoria Sponge Cake will be taught and with just a few tweaks, using the same recipe another two cakes will be baked - Victoria Mocha Torte and Victoria Green Tea Mousse cake. All these are easy to be baked using simple ingredients. The cakes are suitable for any occasions and celebrations like birthdays, anniversaries, mother's days, fathers day etc. As bonus, we will teach how to pipe greeting words on the cakes using  melted chocolate. Dates for the class and the course fee will be updated soon. Below are pictures of the cakes that will be taught in this class.

BREAD AND BUNS CLASS ON 1st DECEMBER 2013

Our popular bread and buns class was attended by about 15 people last week and this Saturday (7/12) we will be having our Artisan Bread class. Below are some pictures of the bread and buns made in class.






KIDS BAKING CLASS ON 30th NOVEMBER 2013

We had a Kids Baking class last week and had kids whose ages ranged from 6 to 14 years old. It was quite a fun class seeing the youngsters fiddling with whisks, cake beaters,spatulas, piping bags and buttercream. Below are a few pictures taken after class and a few kids left with their master pieces earlier before the snap shots were taken.  We know that children of all ages love to eat crepes, so we  taught them to make crepes and make them into crepe cakes.
