EID MUBARAK AND SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDIL FITRI

We wish to take this opportunity to wish all our family members and Muslim friends in India and around the world a wonderful Eid Mubarak and to our Malaysian Muslims Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. Most of us would be celebrating Eid in a moderate way this year because of the MH17 disaster and the the atrocity happening in Gaza. Our hope and prayers for the Palestinians to attain peace and to the family and friends of flight MH17, no words can describe what you are going through now and we hope that time would heal your pain. Ameen.

Our classes in PG CakeCraft would resume on the 3rd week of August and we will update our class schedule soon. We have also posted below some pictures of our classes in July which also received a good response of over 100 people who attended our class throughout the month.

FESTIVE & CELEBRATION CAKES OPEN FOR ORDERS

Tired to bake cakes or too busy to bake a cake for that important celebration? Set your worries aside because PG CakeCraft is once again collaborating with deal maker Groupon and we are introducing our best selling cakes for sale. All the cakes are baked in 8 inch dimension, weighing about 1.1 kilogram. These artisan cakes are meticulously made in our bakery kitchen using  high quality ingredients and are freshly made to order. Our cakes are loaded with healthy ingredients like almonds, walnuts and pistachios which are rich in omega 3 fatty acids, vitamins and fiber. We also use a good portion of carrots, raisins, cranberries, buttermilk and cream cheese in our ever popular American carrot cake. Those who love to sink their teeth into a piece of red velvet cake need not worry about the artificial red coloring as we have gone one step further and made it more safe by using beetroot juice to get a natural red colour. Our red velvet cake is frosted with cream cheese frosting.

The new kid on the block is our German butter cake which is made with pure butter and filled with fruit preserves and our delicious in- house butter cream. Nutty almond praline, fresh strawberries and cherries adorn the cake to give a textural bite and color. Our Mocha cake is made more moist as each layer of the cake is brushed with coffee and frosted with our mocha flavored soft butter cream. We have a list below with a brief description of the cakes for your tasty perusal.

American Carrot Cake – made with carrots, raisins, cranberries and walnuts. Frosted with cream cheese and topped with toasted almond flakes.

Red Velvet Cake – made with natural beetroot juice for the iconic red color and buttermilk. Frosted with cream cheese. Topped with strawberries and seasonal berries like blueberries and raspberries.

CAKES AND PASTRY CLASS ON 6th July 2014

Our Cakes and Pastry class on 6th July went on smoothly and  those who enrolled for the class learned the basics of baking sponge cakes and also how to make the pandan kaya jelly. With the correct recipe and techniques, all of them made their cakes successfully with a few glitches the cakes came out looking good. Making the evergreen pandan layer cake can be daunting for most people but our recipe is quite flawless and by implying the correct technique, we did not encounter much difficulties.
Our Cream Chicken and Mushroom Pies was also a hit with those attending the class and the star was the flaky pastry where only three ingredients were used to make the pastry but the pies turn out very crisp and flaky. For our Opera Cupcakes, they were taught to make almond sponge cupcakes and the star here was the unique buttercream that we created in our kitchen and shared the recipe with our students. This buttercream recipe was so creamy and flavorful and did not leave an oily after taste. The buttercream that we created in our kitchen is more tolerant to our hot and humid weather and does not contain any shortening, krimwell or whipping cream.
We wish to thank all those who enrolled for the class and especially to the Muslim students who were observing the fasting month. We also wish to thank the ladies who were from Singapore and China as they took time off from their holidays to attend our class. Below are some of the picture taken in our class.
